  1. Component 1: Autoclavable Mouth Tray. Receives the metered gel dose from the handle; standardised sizes, like impression trays. Soft, flexible, medical-grade and autoclavable — sterilised between patients, colour-coded for size. A channel in the tray floor fills evenly as the handle dispenses, and a quarter-turn collar seats it on the handle.
  2. Component 2: LED Light Ring. 360° LED ring for visual engagement, even-coverage cueing and session timing. 465 ± 10 nm blue light rings the tray — the child sees the session working, the clinician sees coverage, and the ring dims as the 60/90/120 seconds run out. Optics are fully encapsulated in medical-grade silicone behind a sealed light guide: no exposed electronics, IPX7, wipe-disinfectable.
  3. Component 3: Fluoride Gel Reservoir. Sealed cartridge, dispensed chair-side — prevents over- and under-dosage. A sealed gel cartridge drops into the port. The gear-driven rack advances a piston, pushing the measured 0.5 – 2.0 mg F (set by mode) through the handle channel into the tray at session start — dispensed, not pre-loaded.
  4. Component 4: Smart Handle. Ergonomic handle with microprocessor control. Glossy white ABS with a powder-blue inlay, waisted for a pen grasp, 120 g. The microprocessor drives the timer, the LEDs, dosing and Bluetooth sync.
  5. Component 5: Display Screen. Shows timer, dose, mode & progress. 1.3-inch OLED, readable at arm's length in a lit operatory. Progress at a glance for clinician, parent and child.
  6. Component 6: Control Button. Start / pause & mode selection. One button, glove-friendly. Press to start or pause, hold to switch between the three treatment modes.
  7. Component 7: Battery Indicator. Long battery life with USB-C charging port. 1200 mAh Li-ion, full charge in 2.5 hours over USB-C. A full clinic day on one charge.
  8. Component 8: Salivary pH Sensor. Reads salivary pH in the tray and regulates fluoride release. A micro-electrode in the tray floor samples saliva during the session. Acidic readings extend release time within the safe dose limits, and every pH value lands in the session record.
  9. Dosing mechanism: nine-part gear-and-rack metering assembly, recreated from the CAD prototype.
